My wife of 50 years constantly chides me (which she didn't used to do) about the cynicism I exude about mankind. I am not Jewish, but "cradle-Catholic" Slovak stock. My earliest jobs were for men who were survivors of the Holocaust. I have never, ever, understood the knee-jerk hatred of Israel and the Jewish people. I see the present time as another downward dip in the cycle of self-destruction we humans seem so attracted to. There will be more bloodletting before another generation takes a pause. I will be gone by then. To where? I hope I don't have to watch it.
I’m not offended and I was all prepped to be, this leaves me nonplussed.
I will have to settle for gruntled.
Hence, why I don't take sides in the current Israeli war.
My stance is and has always been, "A nation that cannot defend itself is not a nation at all."
Coincidentally, that's also my stance on Ukraine.
Don't pick a fight with someone who can smash you into the pavement.
