Where is the Militia, when we need it?

Gone are the days of individual state militia.

Volunteers organized to protect the individual state, under local command of the county sheriff, with officers appointed by the state legislature.

The current situation in Appalachia demonstrates the need for the militia.

Florida has a State Defense force. Give Governor Desantis credit.

Tennessee has a State Defense force.

Both separate from the national guard.

The national guard is not the militia. The guard is a defacto reserve element of the active duty army that is “loaned” to the states.

Federal law defines the militia as:

10 U.S. Code § 246 - Militia: composition and classes

(a)

The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(b)The classes of the militia are—

(1)

the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

(2)

the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

Specifically, it is the “ Unorganized Militia” I am addressing.

Could FEMA turn away Unorganized Militia units under command of the Governor and local sheriff's?

Of course the feds would object.

An actual militia would interfere with the power mongering, and forced agendas.

Which is another reason that actual Militias, under control of the State, Governor, Legislature, and elected sheriffs are crucial. A state force independent of the federal incompetence and interference.

One must wonder why the federal government objects to actual Militias.

BTW,

The private groups organizing and training outside of the chain of command and control of Elected Legislatures and Elected sheriff's are not the Constitutional militia. Those groups are really private Armies pretending to be militia.
