Unrequited Love pt 2
I must amend my rant about unrequited Love.
I was wrong.
Mea Culpa.
There is in fact one instance, one only of actual unrequited Love.
When one chooses to love their enemy.
The act of loving ones enemy is a choice. One made without expectation of the love being reciprocated.
That is it.
Even so,
In terms of Romantic Love.
I reiterate, there is no such thing as unrequited Love.
In romantic love , at the root, is the desire to be loved.
The hurt associated with unreturned romantic love is, the pain of rejection. The prolonged pain is an obsession over unfulfilled desire. Desire is not love.
Love is a gift freely, voluntarily given. A gift given without expectation or demand.
Anything else is not love, it is desire, an expectation of an exchange. Demanding that some one return desire, reciprocate is to demand that that person prostitute themselves.
If you love someone you will never demean, diminish or dishonor them. You cannot purchase love.
You can ,rent a prostitute.
So call your demand what it is.
