Shame, is about pride.
Specifically, wounded pride.
I read the Bible and the Bible tells me pride leads to the fall. To miss the Mark.
To create separation.
Odd how the Book says the opposite of what is taught.
Though, YESHUA did in fact warn us that in the future many would torture, imprison, kill in His name. And that those that did those things were evil, Damned.
Looking around, considering history, HE obviously nailed that!
Odd how HE said, “This I Command you, that you Love one another.” and, “I call you not as servants but as Friends.”
One more point. The John 3:16 quote.
Interesting how the second half is usually ignored.
John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
That second verse is the key.
Can't preach hellfire and damnation, if the message is Love and Mercy.
That's why both the Churches and the critics of the Bible use the exact same tactics of picking and choosing, intentionally separating words, phrases from context.
Churches that serve, can't rule, churches that give can't be greedy and wealthy, churches that are humble, can't be grandiose.
Then again, about two thousand years ago, the targets of YESHUA'S wrath were the priests. The priests were who he directly condemned.
I look at the Church today, nothing really changed.
Power corrupts.
Case in point.
Shame and pride.
SHAME:
noun
A painful emotion caused by the awareness of having done something wrong or foolish.
"felt shame for cheating on the exam."
Respect for propriety or morality.
"Have you no shame?"
A pervasive, negative emotional state, usually originating in childhood, marked by chronic self-reproach and a sense of personal failure.

n. a highly unpleasant self-conscious emotion arising from the sense of there being something dishonorable, immodest, or indecorous in one’s own conduct or circumstances. It is typically characterized by withdrawal from social intercourse—for example, by hiding or distracting the attention of another from one’s shameful action—which can have a profound effect on psychological adjustment and interpersonal relationships. Shame may motivate not only avoidant behavior but also defensive, retaliative anger. Psychological research consistently reports a relationship between proneness to shame and a host of psychological symptoms, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, subclinical sociopathy, and low self-esteem. Shame is also theorized to play a more positive adaptive function by regulating experiences of excessive and inappropriate interest and excitement and by diffusing potentially threatening social behavior. Compare guilt. —shameful adj.
PRIDE:
noun
A sense of one's own proper dignity or value; self-respect.
Pleasure or satisfaction taken in an achievement, possession, or association.
"parental pride."
Arrogant or disdainful conduct or treatment; haughtiness.

. a self-conscious emotion that occurs when a goal has been attained and one’s achievement has been recognized and approved by others. It differs from joy and happiness in that these emotions do not require the approval of others to be experienced. Pride also has expressive reactions that differ from joy, such as puffing up of the chest and directing attention to others or an audience. False pride can become grandiosity if the sense of accomplishment is not deserved or the reaction is excessive. See also hubris. —proud adj.
Hubris:
noun
Overbearing pride or presumption; arrogance.
Excessive pride, presumption or arrogance (originally toward the gods).
Overbearing pride or presumption
How does the Bible define Shame and Pride?
Shame:
“sorrow that is according to the will of God” – encourages repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10).
“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”
GODLY sorrow, leads one to repent, to turn away from an action.
Worldly sorrow leads to death, destruction.
PRIDE:
So a person who is proud will lie about others and even about themselves but in time, they will “be trapped in their pride” and get caught in their own lies. A person will usually lie to make themselves look better and others look worse. There is also the bent toward violence, and because “pride is their necklace; violence covers them as a garment” (Psalm 73:6). Jesus gave us a list of the depravity of man when He mentioned its source: “For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person” (Mark 7:21-23).

The way the Emphasis on shame manifests, is the wounding of pride.
The “bad” aspect of shame is used as a means to focus upon pride.
Rather than a call to turn away from sin, (Sin; anything that leads to separation, division, between self and GOD, between ourselves and others as well)
The call is to seek restoration of pride. Self worth is the point and purpose, public acclaim , acceptance, is the goal.
Where then is the restoration of relationships?
Love? Compassion? Mercy?
Our society, and by far, most church teachings focus upon only pride and the need to be acclaimed.
In short.
A celebration of narcissism and the protection/restoration of the narcissist's delusion of grandeur.
The world teaches us to be narcissistic.
Which brings only division, separation, destruction.
The Bible, teaches us to turn away from division, separation, destruction.
The world teaches us to love ourselves, over all else.
The Bible commands us to Love others, even at the expense of ourselves.
To love oneself, to serve oneself is to serve ones desire. To reduce oneself to being nothing other than an endless appetite, an appetite that consumes everything including the self. Endless never ending hunger and thirst. Death which is destruction.
To love others, is to serve others, is to connect, to grow, to become a new thing. To Love GOD, is to Love life, to live, to be a part of the divine family, the family of love.
It is Love, that is eternal.
It is Love that is infinite.
GOD is Love.
The only way to be eternal is to Love.
The only way to build relationships, is to Love.
The only way to create, is to Love.
We are created in the image of GOD.
GOD is Love, we are created in the image of Love,
We are called, to Love.
Therefore I posit that Biblical Shame and Pride are the absence of Love.
To exist outside of GOD, is to exist without Love.
Damnation, is literally, to be separate from GOD.
To be separate from GOD is to be separate from Love and Life, to be dead.
“For the wages of sin are death”
Now, you know the meaning of YESHUA, when he says,
“I offer you Living Water.”
For your thirst.
What He means when He said
that He is the bread of life.
The meaning of communion.
The bread and the wine.
To eat of His flesh, to drink of His blood, is to eat and drink of His essence, Life and Love, and to share that with one another.
To Love is to give life.
To live, is to Love.
These specific things HE commanded;
Love GOD with ALL of your heart, mind and soul.
Love each other, as, like, we Love GOD,
To Love as, Like, GOD, without limit, without restraint.
Greater Love has NO ONE, than this,
That you lay down your life for your friend.
John 3:16-18
“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
To be condemned is to be damned, to be damned is to be separated from GOD. To be separated from GOD is to be empty of Love, without life, to be dead.
HIS name is YESHUA;
GOD Saves, GOD is Salvation.
Now reread John 3:16-18.
Felt like I was reading from a tent revival we used to go to in Arkansas. You can't just think that Gods words are true and good you have to believe they are.
I had to restack Donn! Thanks brother!..
