Mamaws wisdoms.

Things my Granny said.

Growing up, my Grandmothers expressed wisdoms. Usually right after or while I was engaged in something annoyingly unwise.

Probably the most common was,

“ Boy you are gonna bust hell wide open”

This usually went along with

“ You are full of wicked ambitions”

Which also

Was often accompanied by

“ Well bless your heart”

And

“If gas was sense you wouldn't make it once round a cheerio.”

That was Mamaw Harper.

Granny Odom had wisdoms as well.

“ Well bless your heart.”

“Your cornbread ain't quite done in the middle is it?”

I must say,

I often worked overtime at earning those wisdoms.

I have survived my foolishness so far.

I really miss Mamaw and Granny.

I even miss that three foot steel mixing spoon of Mamaws.

Still hear it whistling right before impact.

Never aggravate Mamaw in her kitchen.

Granny had a cast iron thimble.

I have a permanent knot behind my ear.

Don't mess with Granny. I know she loved me, she used that thimble instead of a switch or a needle.

Armed Southern Grandmothers demand respect. They will instill that respect along with a certain fear.

Watching the news,

I realize two seriously critical things.

First, GOD blessed me with Mamaw Harper and Granny Odom.

Second,

Seems an awful lot of folks didn't have a Mamaw or a Granny.

I feel kinda sorry for most.

They clearly needed wisdoms growing up.

Wisdoms that they seriously lack bless their hearts!

Observing our , theoretically elected leaders I have come to understand and appreciate more of the depths within those wisdoms.

Bless their hearts .

If only they had had A Mamaw and Granny in their lives we would have a better world.
