Elias Thorne

Here is my contribution to the mystery of Elias Thorne.
“Subtlety is not his strength now is it?”
The middle aged woman, slightly frumpy with a severe scowl, muttered. As usual Elias heard her depredations while making sure she noticed his blatant indifference. He had danced this dance many times since adolescence had absconded with Elias Thornes naivety.
Indifference, is the Thorn that pricks the narcissist most deeply.
“ Elias Thorne, is my thorn...” His mother’s little favorite rhyme.
Elias smiled openly, knowingly causing her scowl to deepen.
Karen screeches her demands as Elias Thorne defies her with a calculated courtesy.
Rebellion has many forms, one is this, Elias Thorne.
Elias lived to rebel, to challenge, to refuse conformity,
Elias sole purpose had been formed by the brutality of indifference, the cruelty of denial, the depravity in delusion.
Who then is this, this paragon of rebellion?
Not even Elias Thorne could answer.
Kind when faced with weakness, compassion when confronted with pain, strength when challenged, a question when answered.
Contradictions define Elias Thorne.
The contradictions of love of integrity, of mercy.
Why then does the world react with scorn towards this man, Elias Thorne?
Because the world thrives on delusion, while Elias thrives on truth.
Elias Thorne, is a thorn, an irritation , a mirror, that smiles despite the horrors reflected.
Why does he smile?
Because he is exhausted, no longer strong enough to scowl or weep.
Despite despair, in spite of pain, defiant, he carries on.
It’s all there, in his name,
Elias; The Lord is My GOD,
Thorne; a thorn...
Elias Thorne, the Thorn of God.
Karen Scourge, paragon of paradox, rebel, magnet of madness, general gadfly of delusion, a living epithet of piercing contradictions.
The real question is,
Why is Elias Thorne?
Why? Because even delusion needs delusions, and hallucinations dream.
Smiling, a weary man trudges on, ever changing, endless in form.
The weary truth of Elias Thorne.

Now that was interesting!
